dating a dunhill
Ok Pipers,
I can use a little help, I just found a Dunhill in my pipe drawer and I can't even remember where I got it. If any of you guys or gals know anything about Dunhills please give me a heads up. Following is all I can read on the pipe, it's a quarter bent shell and reads as follows:
Dunhill Silver Banded Classic Series Shell Briar 3 S 554 11131 what ever in the heck all those numbers mean and Dunhill is printed in an oval.

Re: dating a dunhill
HI Jerry,
I personally don't own any Dunhill Pipes. therefore my interest is limited. I have stumbled across some articles which may be helpful in narrowing down the information you seek:
http://pipedia.org/index.php?title=Dunhill
http://pipedia.org/index.php?title=A_Dunhill_Pipe_Dating_Guide
http://www.rdfield.com/Articles/A%20Dunhill%20Pipe%20Dating.htm
http://www.pipeguy.com/rdfield.html
It does not seem that this is as straight forward subject as we are led to believe
Surely someone in here will know more.

Re: dating a dunhill
I found that the very small number 01 stamped alongside the made in England showed that the pipe was made in 2001. Thanks for all the help you folks gave.
